Swimming in the Rice Field

September 26, 2011 § Leave a comment

Honest moment: I’ve not run more than 5 miles this past week. Not only have I not been “feeling” it, but Thailand’s rainy season seems to have climaxed in my village. Seriously, some of my neighbors’ houses have flooded, the streets are calve-deep in rain water, and the rice fields are now on the verge of becoming swimming pools. So, I opted out of running. You might be thinking, “Come on girl! Lace up the tennies and get out there! Force yourself!” And while I would generally agree, I honestly want running to be a lifestyle– not a punishment. I am planning on hitting the pavement tomorrow, when the streets aren’t teeming with fish (an exaggeration, but you get the idea).

How has your running been this past week? How has the weather affected your runs?
